FAC Security Arrangements

#soapboxsunday
Yeah, maybe. The weather is too **** for much else. Well it is when all the things I need to do are outdoor things!
Anyway, back to the point about security, a few brief minutes online have got me your full name, address (including postcode) and mobile number. It was really very easy. And if a computer-illiterate dunce like me can do it, anyone can.
Hence why comments about firearm security arrangements are best kept rather vague.

Well I’m pleased that I’ve kept you entertained on a miserable Sunday… not quite the STALKING that the forum is devoted too?

I seriously doubt that the information online is upto date to be honest as much has changed for me in recent times… in fact when I search myself there’s nothing current that I can find & you would think me being myself would give me a considerable advantage in such matters really wouldn’t you? 🤔

I stick to my original response…the O.P asked a straight forward Q? & I simply responded to try and provide some helpful insight

I would never advocate anyone applying a “minimum requirement” approach to their security measures.

The wider measures I have in place give me confidence that if you were able to gain access to my house you’d be highly unlikely to gain access to my cabinet. In fact I’d give you £50 if you came to my house and could find my cabinet inside of 1hr… I’m a big believer in out of sight, out of mind

Whilst spending time trying to work that out I suspect you would Find yourself rather distracted by the enthusiasm of our pack of hounds to deter you from doing what you were doing…they know their job

Still that would make for great viewing back on the CCTV that runs throughout the household and covers the outside perimeter as well as single point of entry in & out…

I stand by my conviction that I’ve compromised nothing….

Please PM with your intel if you still feel strongly that I am wrong…but let’s not detract from the O.Ps post any further

You do your thing & Ill do mine 😉👍

Well it kept me amused for a few minutes, whatever! I surprised myself at how easy it was!
No harm done, and no offence taken I hope? :tiphat:

No offence taken…

Assuming you found my mug on the tinterweb some of the old content makes for hard viewing. Pre-covid I was very active with brand promotion and PR…it’s always chewy looking at that old content as it reminds me of what was lost…🙄

…but stalk a hell of a lot more these days…every cloud and that 😉🤝

My mate put his cabinet in his utility room when he refurbished it. The cabinet is built in flush to the plaster work and bolted bottom and sides to concrete floor and walls. Looks a treat and the feo loved it. It'd be a right arse to fetch out.

Hi - looking for bit of advice. Doing FAC application at the moment and in preparation, looking at options for cabinets for proposed rifles and ammo. Is it better to have a completely separate ammo safe or having an integrated lockable ammo compartment within the cabinet acceptable? If both acceptable, are there any preferences from folks here?

Any other recommendations for ensuring there are no objections on security grounds would be appreciated.
All.depends how much ammo you plan on requesting on your ticket.

Internal.safes are very limiting most times.
