Not sure how it happened but I have one facebook account with 2x user names.
Both user names share the same email address
the user names are the same bar one ending with .14

one has friends info etc.
.14 has closed groups info
I would like everything under one user name

I cannot find a way to edit either user name as I never receive an sms
I cannot find anything similar in Help Centre
I cannot find a link for chat or email to discuss it

Please help, I’m at my witts end

I believe that when you delete an account you can't use any of the emails associated with that account
ch82st I hate 'kin FB

Delete both accounts and enjoy a happy life without farcebook.

Delete both accounts and never use Faceache again.
It's disadvantages far, far outweigh its advantages

Gents I agree, its a medium that I despise but its the only way that I can access specific information that's presented by some people who I respect. Its the medium they've chosen so I have to go along with it otherwise I'd have no access to said info.

The groups I belong to are closed groups representing differing aspects of country sports. As such not much different the stalking directory, except that they use a medium that keeps their members and posts private.

Now with all due respect, no more FB bashing, its pants, we all know it, move on. Please only reply if you can help me solve this issue

As I stated earlier deleting and starting again would mean not being able to use the associated email addresses and I'd prefer to be able to continue to use them.

Thanks in advance

You can go into your account, settings and edit your username, whether it will allow you to use the same username for both accounts, I do not know, but you could try leaving one of the groups, then rejoining under the same username as the other account, as it is possible to join multi groups with the same username, and when you log on, it will automatically tell you the latest entries from both groups, if you explain to the group owner, that you will leave then rejoin you should have no problem, you could also leave both groups, and rejoin under a new name, which would negate any dubious entries you may have made in light of the FAC checks likely to come into force.

@Fadcode many thanks for the constructive advice.
The biggest problem is that there's zero tech support available

When editing user name you have to enter a code that is sent to your registered mobile number.
However in my case I never receive the code and I've tried many times

I'm not to worried about FAC checks, I keep a very neutral presence on social media
I don't have any time lines or conversations, its all turned off
And Group wise its all bout country sports and nothing remotely controversial

@uptonogood
Ask any child to do it for you .
I once asked a friends 12yo daughter if she had a computer that I could check email on
"use mum's laptop"
"I can't it password protected"
"Oh I can get around that easy"
You may of been hacked though .
Yep I think you may be correct, I had a warning about FB on my password manager so I changed the password
