Tastes as good as it looks. Local beach-side café/restaurant in Bude offer this through the winter to keep trade going. Friday only 12-3. Unfortunately, finishes at Easter.that looks yummy my mouth is watering im drooling bs
I think you will find that we had the quotas but many years ago we decided as there was not much fish to sell them. Now the stock are returning they are belly aching. Although I am from a fishing part of the world I’m afraid I do not have any sympathy for the fishermen. They sold out for profit years ago. That is as a result of decades of fishing under EU quotas. The whole system was utter madness and was only ever going to achieve one thing, the collapse of fish stocks. Boats throwing away perfectly good saleable fish because the quota had already been reached, then putting the nets back in the water to do it all over again until enough of a certain species were caught to make a profit. This was introduced by the EU but they couldn’t think of another solution so kept enforcing this for decades, it was akin to the troops being sent over the top of the trenches time after time in the hope that miraculously there would be a different outcome.
This is the reason why I voted leave, but our fu*king useless government hasn’t done a single thing to capitalise on Brexit and life has just gone downhill ever since in just about every imaginable way.
Did you vote leave or remain?I think most UK farmers voted to remain in the EU
The Common Agricultural Policy was, on the whole, very beneficial for them
It was the anti immigration, Rule Britannia, bring back the Empire, we can't have those ignorant Europeans telling us what to do, Farage loving idiots who voted for Brexit
The day after the Brexit vote was the day Great Britain became merely Little England
Cheers
Bruce
"Farmers Blockading Dover" I can't find any reports of this in the media. Plenty of reports of EU farmers protesting but nothing of UK farmers!Protesting about cheap food imports from abroad enabled by post-Brexit food trade deals.
Well did they not believe that nice Jacob Rees-Mogg and that nice Mr Johnson when they told us leaving the EU would result in the UK being able to import cheaper food from outside Europe? Oh dear, how sad, never mind. Those farmers now blockading the docks that voted Brexit surely ought to know that you reap what you sow.
Their own NFU told them that their interests were better served by voting Remain.

NFU Favours Remain Vote in Brexit Debate
UK - The National Farmers Union (NFU) has said that the interests of farmers would be best served by remaining in the EU after the referendum in June, based on current evidence.www.thepigsite.com

Brexit Done![]()
Last time I checked the news with lots of European capitals and motorways blocked by tractors the farmers “in” the EU didn’t seem very happy ( Happy farmer being a rare object I accept)I don't have an issue with those people. They voted for what they felt was right. They have my respect.
But by a large percentage apparently farmers voted to leave. Supposedly. And now aren't happy. Same as the fishing industry.
Self inflicted wound. For them I've no sympathy. My work and income has been severely curtailed by Brexit. Now it's their turn.
Not here in the scots borders there is a lot of very rich farmers . one goes on a safari for a month and all the work is done by contractors and has about 10+ horses on at least £ 40 week CASHThey work bloody hard and many of them have been struggling to make ends meet for years.
You have both ends of the scale in the Scottish Borders, yes you get wealthy land owners but you also get owner shepperds and tenants too.Not here in the scots borders there is a lot of very rich farmers . one goes on a safari for a month and all the work is done by contractors and has about 10+ horses on at least £ 40 week CASH
another goes skiing and takes several days grouse shooting . ALL driving round in latest 4X4s
And a few that have bought farms and never been to them , just puts a farm manager in all a TAX DODGE .
POOR FARMERS MY ARSE!!

tell me where there is any poor shepherds or tenants around hereYou have both ends of the scale in the Scottish Borders, yes you get wealthy land owners but you also get owner shepperds and tenants too.
Farming is business you get good business minded farmers and you also get farmers that struggle to move with the times.
£40 a week for livery is pretty cheap up near Edinburgh you looking at £80-£120 depending on requirements.
Tax avoidance is good business tax evasion is illegal.![]()
I wouldn't want any farmer to be poor, the problem with your perception is just because a farmer has fancy 4x4 and a bit of livery doesn't mean he is profitable, many many farms are run at a loss especially dairy.tell me where there is any poor shepherds or tenants around here
NO ONE is go to lend him £5 mil unless he is good for it .must be able to afford the repayments. more time for him to sit in the kitchen moaningI wouldn't want any farmer to be poor, the problem with your perception is just because a farmer has fancy 4x4 and a bit of livery doesn't mean he is profitable, many many farms are run at a loss especially dairy.
Local dairy to me is one where cows don't go out to pasture apart from heifers and drys, he has robot scrapers and milkers this fella took a gamble with 5 million quid a few years ago probably using his land as collateral, from the outside he will look a wealthy man but I bet his profit margins are minimal compared to other industries.
What is your measurement of poor?
