I'm conducting a survey in which I need to bait deer to areas, and need to secure the chosen food to a fence post. Molasses and aniseed seem to be often mentioned as a good attractants for deer and found this method of creating blocks: Molasses Deer Lick
Opinions?
After three attempts I have finally made something use able, initially couldn't get it up to the necessary temperature with the size of pan I had so bought a bigger one then still didnt set getting it to 130 degrees C. Found a recipe for making boiled sweets out of molasses which included baking soda, so with that added it set hard! Perseverance! Hopefully the deer appreciate it and smile for the camera!
