Find my location app for Solo stalkers

Anyone have an app on their android phone that allows others to find your location. Ideally a subscription free version

Thinking this would be a good idea for the wife so she knows where I am when out solo stalking and for my safety if anything happens to me
I use Location Sharing in Google Maps. Its free and accurate.

If you are often alone in an area with patchy coverage and need the best chance of connection it is worth getting one of the multi network eSIMs. There are now quite a few available

Honest mobile does one which operates as a backup data only which will work for location updates etc and is pretty cheap for a year. I have a backup SIM at the moment at the moment but when it runs out I'll be getting one of these

I've have a Honest eSIM but frankly, although it has worked as advertised on occasion (notably whilst stalking remote Rannoch Moor in October), yesterday in the midst of Warminster Danger Area, it was not giving me much advantage. Initially, I contacted their help desk as I thought it had to be better than it was and indeed, there was an issue with the pre-loaded APN details, but its not as seamless or useful as they make out. I have had to resort to switching my primary data channel despite iOS supposedly doing this automatically.

I do suspect that one of the issues is my normal service provider is EE and that's one of the bundled providers in their app. I'm constantly watching the 2 signal bars at the top right of my iPhone 17 Pro and when EE (top) is down to one bar or less yet I have more on the honest SIM, I'm still losing data connectivity. On balance, for £49 a year, I'm sticking with it but be aware, it might not work as you expect!

The below is a typical signal display:

Android has a personal safety app built in with a safety check feature (assume iPhone has something similar)

If I do solo days on the hills I set it up for an hour after expected home time and it buzzes you and if no response starts messaging your emergency contacts with a location

Once set up it's pretty easy to activate
Whats the name / logo of this android app ?

Paul

Interesting
Apparently not a thing for Samsung as I see others have asked online and had no response

Maybe you can find a lone worker app which would do the same sort of thing but I've no experience with any of them and they may require subscriptions
