Firearm & accessories insurance

Good evening,
Quick question to our shooting community, any recommendations for companies who deal with firearm/accessory insurance.
Specifically the hardware, rifles, shotguns & pistols, I also need cover for scopes, moderators, bipods & stocks.
Generally I added varying amounts & descriptions to my annual home contents but when I actually sat down and worked out the replacement cost if we had a fire or theft it’s quite a substantial amount.
Preferable a competent company who understands exactly what we use, why we use it and how much it will cost to replace.

I have my house insurance with the NFU all my guns and accessories are included. It worked out cheaper than going to a separate company for gun insurance.

Did you individually list all the items as listed on your FAC, make, model, serial number, value? What way did you describe your accessories and how did you value them?
We have car insurance with NFU, I’ll give them a ring and have a yarn with them.

It’s just included in the NFU house insurance as sporting equipment. As none of my stuff is especially valuable it was below the figure that would attract further cost.

I phoned the NFU when i was doing a big trip abroad , everything and public liability was already included in my home and personal policy. Check though as there might be different levels

I had to list everything over £1000.00 with serial numbers, make and model. Accessories fixed to rifle e.g scope, bipod and sound mods are classed as one item, so value all together.

Hiscox are very good not always the cheapest but they have never quibbled in any claims I have had to make over the years

I used to say the same about Hiscox then I made one water leak claim & they immediately doubled my premium & excluded any water ingress claims for 5 years. Stuff that I thought, or words to that effect.

mine are on my home insurance with LV
