Looking for my first thermal, mostly deer but do shoot smaller game occasionally on a mates permission.

Pixfra have caught my eye mostly because I can afford one of their models that also has an LRF which means one less thing to have to carry.

Specific model that caught my eye is the ARC A435 as seems to be a useful foreleg view and an attractive price.

Main question is are Pixfra any good, how good is after sales, is it worth paying more to upgrade to the model with the 640 sensor, anything else comparable in features and price I should be considering (I’d really like LRF built in)

If you can stretch to a 640 sensor, then do it, you'll never regret it
Pixfra are OK, they make the Blazehunters for ATN (and ATN charge more for an equivalent Blazehuneter than Pixfra does for the same model)
An LRF is OK if you have some way of using that information when you come to take a shot, if not it can be money spent unnecessarily

Hello, I have a Pixfra M 40 13 mm i bought on recommendation but check out the Diopter setting as mine is on max and still not good, Not wanting to wear Glasses , Any ideas Bruce ??

Looks like a Nocpix Lumi h35 might be the answer then.

I want the LRF as I’m awful at estimating range and don’t want to carry to much kit on me.

I had a good look at the nocpix at the shooting show.
Its a very nice unit that would suit your needs perfectly.
With the new firmware update the ballistic function will show you your bullet drops etc which is handy.

Hello, Did you check out the Diopter settings on the NocPix ? My friends Pixfra is on max setting but it is still not enough for me to get a clear view and i do not like wearing glasses

I had no problems with the diopter adjustment and I'm in my sixties and have been wearing reading glasses for years

Forget Leica, Zeiss or Swarovski thermals - you're just paying for the name. There are significantly better thermals out there for a lot less money
For example HIK, or NocPix

Isn't there some sort of Zeiss/ Russia sanction issue at the moment meaning you can pick up new ones at huge discount (i.e. approx what they should be worth but you get a Zeiss warranty)

Someone did tell me about it but I'll be honest i wasnt listening as I still can't afford it
