Fjallraven trousers

Thinking about buying a pair of Fjallraven trousers but not sure which type to get.
Will be used for hill stalking.
I’m thinking the Vidda Pro ?
Any advice is greatly appreciated

Great trousers but I am unconvinced about their wax waterproofing system. I use mine without any wax and use another layer as appropriate and if needed. They are (for me) very confortable so I got the Jeans as well which get lots of summer use but less pockets.

I have a pair. I haven't had a problem waterproofing with the Fjallraven wax and a heat gun. It did take a bit of practise.

There's no inner lining though, so it's great for the summer but if it's really cold I wear long johns underneath. 😳

I have a pair of their Keb trousers; great for walking and summer stalking but having used them hind stalking in November in bad weather (very wet), I wouldn't wear them in that weather again out of choice. Despite waxing them before the trip they were not waterproof or anything like.

Just remember they are quite long in the leg, even thier regular length.
I got mine adjusted to suit.
I think they are great trousers. I've got the hinting version of the Keb and The Drev.
I finf the Drev more comfortable, stretch material behind kness and backside.
Double layer on fron of knees.

Next pair will be the tapered fit ones to go either in boots or over them.

Vida Pro are great pants. You can get ventilated ones as well now
Use wax to proof the bits you need they dry quick and are comfortable to wear
If it’s baltic use long johns

Lappland hybrid trousers I’ve about 4 pairs one pair still at it after five years. Bushcraft store in Enfield are the cheapest place I’ve found for them.
Great trousers I live in them

I picked up a pair of fleece lined jeans in Cabelas. I have never found them in Europe except in childrens sizes they work very well too in cold weather.

Fjallraven’s - great trousers. Not waterproof, but dry very quickly. And tough. I can never be bothered with the wax. I just use Wash in Nick WAx and makers them water repellant which keeps off the worst.

But they are tough and last well.

in colder weather - merino wool thermals underneath and they are great. Even wear them ski touring as well and they are good as well.

I like them with the bottom strap and hook. Works well over the top of the boot and keeps water out of your boots. Not as good as good gaiters, but usually can’t be bothered with faff of gaiters.

I am now on my third pair in fifteen years. My first are still going strong, but now kind of scruffy and well patched. Middle one are nice and comfortable, and have a new dark blue pair for when I want to be out about but not in greens.

Vidda Pro. Had a pair for a few years and despite some harsh treatment and really extensive use they're still going strong and the best shooting trousers I've ever owned.

Barents here. I have persevered with the wax but can’t get them remotely waterproof. I also find them quite cold, so tend to wear them in warmer conditions. I’ll be trying nikwax shortly.
I have to be honest, since I got my Swazi 4WD trousers nothing else really gets a look in now until spring!
