Flea Treating Pups

Almost every 'pup for sale' advert seems to include that the pups will be treated for fleas. We have never treated pups for fleas before they leave simply because neither the pups nor the dam has shown any signs of fleas and I don't want to add any more chemicals than is necessary. Is this just a reflex reaction going back to the days of old straw beds and pups born in barns? I can understand giving them flea treatment if required, and nothing wrong with being born in barns, but I don't fully understand the almost compulsory approach to pups born in houses?

Thoughts?......

with pest control - biting insect activity, the application of chemicals should only be applied if activity is present, only then if required if required - sometimes using chemicals isn’t required

why on earth people put their animals these days through all the applications of biting insect control when it’s not required is beyond belief, l get the odd tick have a feed on me now and then, i remove it but i don’t walk around with a insecticide collar or spray or apply gel as a lot of people do to their pets, monitoring your pets health is not applying chemicals to them when it’s not needed
nowt as strange as folk

easy add on for the commercial vet practice, denmark i think you can only treat for worms after a sample has been tested
