Almost every 'pup for sale' advert seems to include that the pups will be treated for fleas. We have never treated pups for fleas before they leave simply because neither the pups nor the dam has shown any signs of fleas and I don't want to add any more chemicals than is necessary. Is this just a reflex reaction going back to the days of old straw beds and pups born in barns? I can understand giving them flea treatment if required, and nothing wrong with being born in barns, but I don't fully understand the almost compulsory approach to pups born in houses?
