Wanted: Flights to Europe with rifles

Does anyone know the airlines that allow rifles to be taken to Croatia currently? I have used KLM in the past that have been okay, but a customs transfer at Schiphol is required that is a hassle. I know Lufthansa will do it. Any best options?

The customs form to pass through Schipol is very straightforward- the issue is that a lot of the regional UK airports won’t handle firearms. London City stopped last year & Heathrow make the process as difficult as possible

Not aware of customs transfer in Schiphol, you need customs authority to transit (via email) but firearm goes straight thru, done it several times. Gun handed in in UK and arrives in Zagreb.

Most of the group I am going with in November are travelling from Birmingham with KLM. I am travelling from Gatwick with Turkish airlines but a bit of a nightmare.
My trip is twice the price of what it would have cost travelling from LHR before they cancelled trip to Zagreb until 26th March next year and twice as long because it is via Istanbul !!!!
I didn't fancy travelling from Birmingham so that was my only option.

I will try again with KLM as I have had good luck with them thus far. And try to fly out of Norwich that has been good. I completely agree that the British airport scene is trying to make it unpalatable though. Either it is possible or not. They seem to be somewhere in between. It is really nice to hunt with your own rifle. Th pig chances are not many, and you want to feel the shot and not be fumbling about.

I flew Manchester to Zagreb for driven boar with Lufthansa year before last, pretty straightforward. Was via Munich but I didn't touch the luggage or need any paperwork for Germany
