Hi Guys

Looking for a folding stainless steel Gambrel and stainless steel pulley kit to be able to deal with / from muntjac up to fallow.

Have seen one somewhere but cannot find it now, any info of supplier would be brilliant.

Thanks
Phil

Hi Guys many thanks, can't get through to keiths web site, have looked on donnington park as well

Eric don't suppose you have the allen website address by any chance

Cheers
Phil

I don't need a gambrel, just take a branch roped to the legs.
Since a few years this set-up has served me well as we often skin in the field too.
The pullies are from dingy sailing and the super duper main rope too.

If you go to any chandler you can get very light weight high quality pulley's that will self lock.
The gambrel in the picture is David Strettons from Donningto deer management. I think they are about £18 but a bit on the small side for reds, I have used one Fallow Though. The pully shown in the kit I bought recently for £12.50 at a game fair as a spare, it's strong but a bit bulky and won't self lock. David Stretton sells the hooks too but any S hook will do.

Take a look at any on-line dinghy sailing shop ("Chandler"). Take a look at the 'micro' ball bearing block from Harken, Holt Allen, RWO, etc. For sika a 4:1 or 5:1 pulley system with 5mm string is fine. For roe sized deer a 3:1 is adequate. For the rope, buy an supple easy-to-handle rope, rather then a super low stretch one - it's easier on the hands and folds more easily into your jacket pocket.
They also sell simple stainless steel hooks which serve to either hold a gambrel, or can act a a one-leg gambrel (this works brilliantly for me).
If the assembly gets mucky, I just chuck into the washing machine.

It also happens that I sail, so I had a bunch of usable parts sat in my gargage.

All looks good kit but it will work out a lot more expensive than buying one of the kits from http://www.keithshighseats.co.uk/products/stalkersmate/

ow smooth does the pulleys need to be for what they are going to be used for?

Hi Guys Thanks for the info

Whitstable! Home of the oyster.

More importantly, just down the road from Tankerton, home of Valente's ice cream and amusement arcade :-D. Many a happy summer there in the dim and distant past.
