Food hygiene - cleaning products

Just wondering what products people use for their food prep area cleaning regime? I think I read somewhere they have to be industrial grade chems, not domestic?

I'm watching this thread with interest. I want to register as a food Business with the LA.

I was recommended this, for a chiller:
Super professional V1 & v2.webp

At the risk of a thread hijack (apologies to the OP), what should I be using for cleaning/disinfecting my food prep, chiller and skinning areas?

Is there one product for all uses? It seems that I should use a sanitiser, which is a combined detergent and disinfectant, like the C12 shown? I'm guessing I need to buy products with specific BS numbers, but couldn't find a definitive website.

Your EH would have stated a standard / spec that cleaning products need to meet, they are readily available from Nisbets or othets. Not home or would take a pic of label

Your EHO won't like that!
Scented products shouldn't be used on food prep surfaces.
In fact, looking at the label of the product you've posted a link to, food prep surfaces is not one of the uses listed.
Sorry, should have said I use it on floors, back of pickup etc not on prep surfaces.

I use peracetic acid in a weak solution (it's commonly used by the dairy industry) to sterilise my chiller and the surface of the work bench used for breaking down deer carcases. It's readily available in the farm shops and co-operatives locally. Peracetic Acid 5% is completely biodegradable, breaking down into harmless by-products. Peracetic Acid 5% is Free rinsing and non tainting and is suitable for fogging and CIP disinfecting. Peracetic Acid 5% is a highly effective biocide killing a wide range of micro organisms and at low levels it rinses away completely. Hope this helps.

I tried to get some but is a controlled product - they wouldn't even tell me how much it was let alone sell it to me! Ended up buying some Milton's sterilising fluid....
