Wild rabbit with cream, mustard, and white wine. Shot by me early this morning, and has been gently simmering all afternoon. Absolutely fall-off-the-bone tender, and wonderfully-flavoured. Can't believe I gave up eating rabbit for so long
Just had the same for dinner, really decent flavour, I hung 2 head shot rabbits in the chiller for two days, in the slow cooker at dark o’clock this morning with shallots and carrots and gravy, adding the sauce on serving - delicious

that looks very nice - rabbit is a decent bit of food, real shame numbers are dropping off in some areas

cheers

If it looks good enough to eat.......

May I suggest a thread for good-looking dishes. This is one is my idea of good. It was damn delicious too.

Fallow loin, with sweet and sour peppers a la Gordon ‘F*** me’ Ramsay.

Please do add your creations, with tips and tricks. After all, we shoot to eat.
Looks like Gordo made it.

Easter 🐣 Sunday slow cooked legs of venison. Let’s see how it turns out....

Obviously not in the same league as the FB Steak and Kidney pie but the attached shows the culmination of my good lady’s efforts with three rabbits from spotting, shooting, skinning, cleaning, butchering and finally including in a delicious pie served up tonight. Splendid! I am so blessed to have such good staff!
Annoyingly the shots were all filmed through the new Pard so guess what I will be watching again and again....

Fallow loin, treacle marinated. Mushroom & black pepper sauce and green veggies (yesterday’s leftovers).

Was intense

It’s a bit made up, I bunged in treacle and Marmite, with a little thyme, marinated overnight.

Sauce was mushrooms, tiny bit of shallots, creme fraiche (could use cream) , parsley and loads of black pepper.

Was brilliant, if I can do it, anyone can!

That's an indictable offence and I for one hope you suffer greatly for it.

Thanks for the prompt reply, I admit I am not a fan of slavishly following recipes and do a fair bit of improvisation but marmite o_O

Last night's dinner.

Oh man, it was good! I marinaded it first in garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and ground bay leaves, and added hickory to the coals for part of the cooking. It lent a perfect smokiness to complement that classic BBQ flavour
