Forestry Commission training funding

Hi guys

Just wanted to let everyone know about the Forestry Commission's new funding for forestry related courses as an attempt to get more people into forestry jobs.

There's a whole list of different courses that that you can apply for, only thing now is due to high demand, they are only accepting applicants for after 1st April 2024.

I applied for both DSC1 and DSC2 a few months back and have had 100% funding accepted for both courses so it's well worth doing.

That's Crazy as they awarded me far to much for the course's that were eligible and very restrictive, so what happens to all my funding that cannot be allocated?

Fantastic, don't get much for free nour days so it's all a bonus!

Thanks for the info Luke. Do you think I'd have a chance of funding as live in Scotland, albeit near the border and would be able to contract over summer months in England?

If anyone knows of training providers for deer management courses that my be eligible to provide the training under this scheme I'd be most grateful for a heads-up (currently working my way through the links on the list!)

Might be worth having a look on the link that I sent in the original post. As far as I can see you may have to be a resident in England but you never know if you don't try I guess!
