Forestry training fund…

Amazing that over £700,000 worth of funding was allocated in four days. The FC must have seconded half of their staff to the administration team! If you say an average price for a chainsaw, dsc1, quad course is about £300 that is 2333 courses booked. All the colleges and trainers must be fully booked for the rest of the year.

Understand it was administered by a company

Not sure what the point of the fund was if the scope was so broad.

Supposed to be there for people wanting to develop their careers in forestry, not rec stalkers scalping a 'free ticket'... but I'm sure no one on this forum is doing that. :norty:

Perhaps I spoke too soon. Just had the confirmation of my grant!

Applied 8th Feb and got a reply back today for the deer management course.

Have booked onto the September one for now but they said there were no issues with moving to another date if one opens up.

I've reached BDS via email who wants at least 15 people to run a Deer Management Course in East Anglia. I can get 2-3 more people depending on the dates, so if anyone wants a course with BDS in East Anglia, please get in touch with them and express your interests.

just had confirmation for funding that I applied for on 14th Feb so if you haven't heard back yet, hopefully you will hear something soon if on or around that date

I was informed today that they would be interested in providing a course in East Anglia, however the problem is with lack of availability of tutors, lets hope that might change.
