Fox Classic Hunter Load data updated

Edinburgh Rifles

Well-Known Member
We have just added a full list of cartridge load data including the Fox Classic Hunter Factory load data to the website
This should assist in speeding up load development and get you out in the field
Close attention should be paid to the OAL due to the conical design the engagement point of the lands is further forward which results in a comparatively shorter OAL being required

Fox Non Lead Bullets – Edinburgh Rifles

We will be doing the same for Peregrine shortly.
Any questions please get in touch.
We have plenty of stock but have been inundated with orders from individuals and retailers alike so please be patient.

Curious....
Why - except in one instance - is there no velocity data for "proofed" ammo?
And, is the ammo that has not been "proofed" for sale?

Because we have proof certificates for actual velocity and its on the box of the factory ammo.
I could add them but havent had a chance to go through all the proof certs and convert from m/s to fps.

The non proofed data shown is quickload predictions on loads we have tested and shoot accurately
Only the proofed loads are for sale as factory ammo
However we have new loads being proofed as we speak with more due later this year.

Thanks. Can you offer any advice what would be the aproximate max charge of N550 in 6.5×57? Should I stick with 6.5×55 data 42 - 44 gr N550?

The available powder space in a 6.5 x 57 is less than a grain more than the 6.5 x 55, so that data would be a good place to start.

Well, N550 43 gr created significant pressure issues in my 123 gr FOX 6.5×57 loading. Flattened and cratered primer, sticky bolt lift... Should have started lower. Will try 44 gr N160 now.

E R, thank you very much for the data.

The chart Fox shares has now 42 gr of VV N135 for the 130 gr bullet in 308. That's what I tried and seems accurate enough. Shall try with the 45 gr load and bring the chrono out as well.

Good morning, l have a decent amount of Ramshot Hunter and a fair amount of 100gr Fox.
Are you able to offer any load data for this powder please.
The lighter projectiles are easy to find data for,l realise people may have moved away from 100gr .243 usage in Scotland.
