Fox non-toxic bullets

Load than as you would any 308 bullet
Factory 130gr is 45gr n135 for 3000fps
150gr is 45gr N540
165gr is 44.4gr RS50
Thanks, will play around with what I have got. Tend to use either N160 or N150 in the 6.5x55 but if high power powders are needed have some Rl17 which might work well.

Hi interested in loading these in 6.5x55 is there any specific loading dara out there? Or do you just treat it as a standard bullet. Do they react like a standard bullet I know a lot of talk about Barnes needing a large jump?
Fox 123gr for 6.5*55, 42gr N550, 74mm OAL, 2850 fps for a 5 shot of 15mm at 100m. Compared to 130gr GK same POA but -0.5inch POI. Compared to 123 Sierra MK same POA and POI with same charge but 78 mm OAL and 100fps slower

Ok a quick update on the terminal effects of these Fox 130 grain...

Decisive.

Shot a roe at 130yds today, chest shot, not ribs hit in the way in, heart (and lungs) utterly destroyed nice neat 1” exit hole including a rib strike. Pretty much perfect I’d say.

I finally got the chance to give some Fox bullets I bought a go on the range. .308 130gn and 150gn. Having only done 1 x 3 round group of each im not quite calling it a day yet, but im a little disappointed with how they have grouped through my rifle so far. They also had a hellish tendency to ricochet compared to the Power Shoks.

What rifle?
What load are you using? or are they factory?

This is the factory 130gr out of a Forestry Commission Tikka T3
1cm CTC at 100m
3cm CTC at 200m

45gr N135 at 69mm Tip to Head in GGG or PPU brass for the 130gr

I’m almost through my first 100 rounds in my 270 with the 130gn factory, with 50 animals on the deck I am well chuffed with their performance!

Out of my personal ruger m77 they group at .5 moa and in my £75 brono ZKK 600 client rifle it shoots 1 hole groups.

good morning, has any one checked for copper deposits in the rifle barrel, any build up of fouling and how quickly does accuracy start to drop off.does the rifle need to be cleaned sooner than using normal lead cup and core bullets

Me

Fox is brass not copper
the driving bands mean significantly less bullet is in contact with the barrel compared to any straight shank cup and core bullet
I am not one for scubbing the hell out of barrels and havent seen any significant copper/brass deposit
accuracy doesnt appear to have dropped off in my 270 in 18 months of use and one de-coppering
approx 450-500 rounds at a guess

good morning and thank you,i will have to get some 243 and 6.5 later in the year and give these fox bullets a try.

I was given a box of fox copper bullets by Tam the Gun a little while back to try and they are great! I shot this roe doe last Sunday at 75 yards with 130gr .308win with the fox copper bullets. This is the 3rd deer I've shot with them and highly impressed and would defiantly recommend them to anyone. I'd of normally lost both shoulders using pro hunters but just trimmed around the wound and diced and minced both shoulders!

Has anyone got any pictures of the wounds on any of species from using these bullets? Can't decide whether to go for 130 or 150 grain that's all. It's for a Sako 75 in 308. Perhaps it will not make any difference? Is 3000fps the optimum speed?

Sorry yb, my post was supposed to say "any other species". Fat fingers I'm afraid. Very happy with the roe carcasses but was wondering what fallow, red and munties might look like that's all.

No worries Dexter. I have one of a head shot muntjac if you wish me to PM it to you? I have seen what red stags look like and can assure you that it looks like less damage then the roe shows. And it dropped the stag on the spot!
