Foxing round

i use 70gn blitzkings in my 6x47 the .243 would shoot them as well mines a 8 twist barrel.

+1 Sierra Blitzkings, i use 90s in my 257 and 55s in my 22BR, judging by the spectacular terminal performance in both, the 70 grain Blitzking in a 243 should be devastating.

Ian.

White beard-i also use the 40gn bk in my .22br- devastating on fox.

Hi gary I tried some 40 grn Blitzkings in my 22BR when i was undertaking load developement, had them up to 3920fps but they werent quite as accurate as the 55s which i settled on
The 55s now do duty as my do everything bullet in the 22BR.

interesting
I have just moved to blitzkings in the .222 (40gr due to issues in stabilising anything longer)

not shot anything with them yet but will be interested in performance compared to V/AMax

70gr BlitzKings are amazing in my 243, quality on foxes out to 300m and head shooting deer out to 150m. 36.8gr of N140 and they zipped along nicely to a ragged hole out to 200m.

243 for fox

No home loading in Ireland so i just use the same as for deer-80 grain remmy sp-here is the effect from about 100 yards on a vixen that i got tonight:lol::lol:vixen 003.webp

70gr Blitzking 39g of N133 doing around 3,350 fps
unzipps most things they come in contact with. Wouldn't fancy using them on deer. Explosive round.

As always this has been worked up for my rifle.

As an off the peg round, 75g Vmax in 243 (I'm using hornaday superformance) are pretty...err....humane...

70gr Sierra BlitzKing, just about the most explosive bullet......ever! Failing that 70gr Nosler BT's also quite destructive :-D

no ****!
used one in anger last night or the first time
40gr .222 on a young fox at 60-70 yds

front on slightly quartering left to right
entered the upper bib and the exit hole was two fists!
it went off like a grenade!!

the impact noise is what I was surprised by
almost as much as the moderated report

certainly dead and not conclusive from one shot but quite messy!

I've just started reloading 85 Grain Sierra Game Kings as a bullet for both roe and Fox. I'm yet to shoot anything living with them yet but their accuracy is outstanding. I doubt any Fox will complain about being hit with one though.

+1 for the 85gr Gamekings
powered by 47.5gr Superformance or 45gr RL 19 or 40gr H380

Gives you the deer option at the same time!

One of the 3 we had last night.
70gr Blitzking shot in the bib. Exit between shoulder blades. At about 160m

What would be a good home load in 243 foxing round
Sierra 80gn blitz, under 45gns of Win 760 or H414, same powder, superb on foxes and on deer up to medium size, this is maximum charge which works superbly in my .243 however you must start low and work up.
