Been looking at the franchi momentum has anyone got this rifle ? it seems well priced at about £600. I am looking at it in 243 but cant decide between that and x bolt. x bolt is about £150 or more expensive. Amway if anyone has one opinions please. i would like to buy new as its going to be my first rifle so thought with mod sling bipod etc i would save a bit on the gun by buying this.

it looks like i was looking at the horizon not the franchi momentum grrrr i think the momentum looks nicer with the fluted bolt.

Murph3010, get a Tikka mate you might regret anything less

Ian

It's the price mate a tikka is a big jump from x bolt and massive from howa or franchi. I have to be realistic with the budget and allot of people do seem happy with the x bolt and even the howa. It's going to do mostly foxing and a bit of stalking.

I haven't seen or handled a Franchi momentum so can't comment but you can't really question the parentage. Franchi are a long established company that have produced a lot of good guns for both the civilian and military markets over the years. I wouldn't mind trying one out myself.

Out of the two you mentioned get the Howa, great rifle and has been for a few years now better then the equivalent Remington 700/.

Ian.

Going to malmos guns on friday to have a look at all three see how they feel being mounted. see how the bolts feel and dry firing them. Its a great shop if you're ever lancs anyone.i know the triggers can be looked at but the howa is the hardest to sort from what ive seen. the franchi is made to be adjustable to suit and the browning looks go be fairly easy to sort too.
