Gear waterproofer

What does the manufacturer recommend? Depending on the materials, you may need different products, eg Kammo (proper kammo) recommend Grangers Fabsil Gold, Paramo recommend nikwax

Paramo would recommend nikwax they are the same.

yeah .... but it all depends how much each vendor here waters it down ... some water down more than others

Diver Dave is the stuff. Prompt delivery and does what it says on the bottle. Just make sure you warm it up otherwise the nozzle clogs up a bit.

I've used Diver Dave's waterproofer to good effect on items of varying provenance, including many that were not originally advertised as "waterproof". For wash-in waterproofing I tend to use Nikwax.

For items like Rab jackets I've sent them back to Rab for their cleaning and re-waterproofing service, which is both quick and reasonable.

For Paramo I use Nikwax, but since both companies were founded by the same guy, Nick Brown, that's a no-brainer!

WG has put it better than I as Diver Dave's proofer is indeed excellent at providing non factory treated fabric, such as tweed, with excellent water repellentcy. I would not however use it on my Paramo kit.

Tweeds soak in lukewarm water and liquid lanolin. Natural water repellant
