German classic folding knives

Last week I bought myself Diefenthal folding knife made in Solingen ( Germany). I wonder if anybody still use those types of knives in the field? Please show yours German folders.

Very nice knife. Yes, I carry a larger folding knife afield, and have completely dressed deer with a 4 inch folder on several occasions. My usual is a single blade Benchmade Griptillian, but I have a larger Benchmade, too, and an older Remington similar to the Diefenthal above, but just one 3.5 inch blade and a cork screw. Another Remington I carry has two excellent blades for dressing fish and birds, plus a choke tube blade for 12 and 20 gauge.

This little one has notched up a few. Blue would be a better colour than green in the heather and bracken

I too have an old German folding pocket knife. It belonged to my grandfather. The blade is worn so thin by this stage that it's little more than a spike!
Not sure where it is right now, but if I can find it I'll post a pic.

i have one of the above mauser knives bought for me by my old head keeper in the mid 80s it used to be a pocket favorite , i had for many many years a small black scaled with brass pins folder with solingen steel blades a sort of swiss army knife look alike it had the best blade to hold an edge i have ever had alas it went missing i know not where

My first real pocketknife was a Boy Scout knife by Boker Tree Brand. Super good carbon steel.
Boker and Hen & Rooster still make some classic old pocketknives of all sizes and styles.

G'day! New(ish) member from Canada seeking information about Diefenthal knives.

I travel to Europe, in particular Germany, quite often on business. During my last trip, I made the trek from Frankfurt to Solingen in some spare time, I always wanted to visit "The Knife Capital", but I didn't purchase anything as I found the pricing "somewhat high" (understatement). But when I got back to the Frankfurt area, I did drop in to a store called Frankonia, where I spotted a beautiful stag-grip folder, at about 1/2 the price of a similar product in Solingen. From what I could tell from my pidgin German, it was originally a custom-ordered knife which for someone who never followed through. It seems to be somewhat oversized from a typical folder, which worked for me as I'm 6'4" with big hands. I still probably overpaid but the knife was a work of art and I couldn't resist the reduced price they had on it.

At any rate I've been trying to find out some information about Diefenthal, or this knife in particular. I can't find a website for Diefenthal, or any online catalogues, etc. Can anyone supply some information on this knife-maker? The only thing that is apparent to me is that Diefenthal seems to be a very respected maker - which is borne out by the quality of the product I purchased in Germany.

I am fortunate to work three or four times a year in Bavaria. Never thought about bringing a knife back, but I've been sorely tempted to bring a dog back.

Looks like their Spanish subsidiary product or might be a an asian knockoff.
