GM Cast Lead Bullet Heads

I am just starting my reloading journey and I have come across GM Cast Lead Bullet Heads in .44. Does anyone have any experience of them? Any good?

Yes, I've used them and they were excellent.

Yes they are good too use in my .444 .
They are quite hard compared to a lot of cast bullets though

They are too hard for light loads IMHO.
Drive them with a higher end load I would suggest.
I use the range lead from these bullets and soften it by half with soft lead and use a much softer lube. Indoor use at 25 yards with a low load gives excellent accuracy.

Congratulations on starting to reload. One of the things that is important is get the terminology right (IMO) so that others understand exactly what you are asking.
One of the basics is to understand the parts that make up a round of ammunition. The Bullet and the Head are completely different.
There is no such thing as a 'Bullet Head' this is a term invented by retailers to attract the uneducated.

As said above they are a bit on the hard side, I use Shell House, buying by the 1000 they work out a bit cheaper and are excellent quality.

What's your go to load at the moment Phaedra?

Good luck getting anything from shell house within 4-5 weeks….can’t seem to get an order sent out which he said would be shipped 2 weeks ago!

The GM’s seem ok but I can’t get them to shoot in my .357 consistently. (158gr RNFP) and a friend is having the same issue (both Marlin 1894’s) although we are not sure that is the bullet yet…could be the load as we are trying reduced loads for gallery rifle.

What's your go to load at the moment Phaedra?

For the indoor 25yd range I use the 240gr with either 5.6gr of GM3 or 5.3gr of CSB5

Previously used 5.4gr of TiteGroup but too expensive
