A little disappointed my old mate. Using one of the devil's tools to find deer, thought you were old style.
I used to carry a 30/30 on my Gator when keepering in Sika country. Quite usual to see hinds on rides in the big blocks. Drive past leave it running and sneak back. Just a Whinnie with a 4x scope, perfect for 50 to 100 yarders.

Have done similar, deer used to keepers truck going round feeding so grab a lift with him & hop out leaving him to drive on as usual

Also, shooting crows, two shooters walk in & one walks out leaving the other to shoot when the crows return.

Opportunist old chap. Mainly done whilst feeding out places, checking traps and gritting our moor and some other tasks. Actual proper stalking done mainly with guests. Night shooting hinds as well (loathed it). Also had a broom with a Vaseline covered stale.
