Ok good bit clearer now , Target size 2" at 200 yards say yeah? Your going to need to dial corrections for wind and trajectory , I am a MOA guy personally you might be different but most important bits are decent wind and elevation tracking that you can trust and parallax adjustment capability while in the aim ( side parallax best ) Objective less handly so go for side . 32-44 objective but i should go 40 if the choice was there there is no real tangible reason to go bigger and bigger mostly means less handy and harder to wriggle into place and poke out the truck window might well prove that 32mm marginly better ( also shorter scopes can prove worthwhile often over long ones in hides out out of windows )The rifle is to non on a 17HMR rifle, hence the Dedicated Hawke Vantage 17HMR scope ontop. I like the reticule, but rhetorical FOV is tight. I use it for general day time pest control shooting rabbits, magpies, rooks, squirrels and mostly from my truck from 30-200 yards.
I know nothing about the Hawke you mention but have had a few and they do represent good enough performance to get the job without too much cost for your uses to my mind.
There are diminishing returns on higher end optical day scopes today than in the past . Your use does not require buying to the top of your budget and putting too much scope on what should be a light , short truck gun for low or no value quarry IMHO. Second hand Leopold variables and 1" tubes work great
