From what Ive learned I think the reiveing went both ways…..something to do with a period of 150 years of crap weather where nothing would grow. Obviously before global warming was invented.

Reiving was simply a way of earning a living. Scottish Reivers were just as likely to raid other Scots as to raid across the English Border. Scots and English would even join forces to raid on either side of the Border. The victims of reiving could be anyone from outside the immediate family.

Raids were planned like military operations and could involve gangs of armed men and last for days. More modest raids might involve no more than a short moonlit ride, a quick plunder from a small farm followed by a dash home for breakfast.

There were like a 14th century mafia , especially towards there last days .

If you replace the word Scottish with the words (caravan club) and the word English with (non-caravan-club) then you have a pretty close description of the modern countryside...

Of course it was sent to me mate, nothing anti English about me. I love England, just last night I booked another little holiday over there for next month.

Another clip on the WhatsApp shows the hand of God goal and the Scottish commentator watching it in slow motion says "the wee man does appear to use an arm but his hand was in a natural position on top of his head".
