For Sale: GPS Dogtra Pathfinder 2 & Pathfinder 2 Mini

I think the first thing I’d book out for him when he’s a lot older is the IQ Mini. Tiny collar, but will need to keep the hair on his throat short.

But he’ll have to learn that here means here!

Best of luck with that one ..lol, here normally means - I'll be there when I'm good and ready mate and not before, I'm in charge here....

These collars are now incredibly popular with owners of deer tracking dogs. We have sold units to owners breeds from Teckels to labs to German Pointers. Several contacts from UK search and rescue teams and a unit going out to an anti poaching team in Africa.

I had a very constructive meeting with the directors of Dogtra Europe yesterday.
I have asked them to look into giving the option of turning off the flashing light in the app.
I have also asked if when logging into the app that the app does not keep insisting you pair a collar.
The reason for this is that if people could work their way through the features of the Pathfinder2 on the app without being interrupted by pairing messages (which you can keep cancelling) then customers would be more free and able to assess the features and benefits of the system before purchasing.
Has there been any update on whether the flashing light can be completely turned off? This would be really useful for stalking purposes.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned elsewhere and I’ve missed it.

Yes it has… for the US market only.

Not sure where the flashing light on of theses collars- on the Garmin dog collar I just flip the collar around so the light is facing the dogs chest - does not seem to make the deer any more spooky.

Hi,
Nothing as yet although it has been fed back to Dogtra several times. People in the UK tend to just put Gaffer tape over the LED’s.

Which is annoying, as then cant tell if turned on or off, and also cant use the flashing white locate light for when the dog is working on clear fell at night,....

I'd really hope you can use your leverage @Dogtra UK to get the firmware update rolled out to the UK market.

Problem is the UK market for GPS is tiny and not enough people feedback just how good these units are. As such people think the other brand starting with a G is their only option.
But I sold a 3 collar system to a chap the other day and the lights were his only gripe. It smashed his other G system out of the park.

I’ve been using this device for six months now, and it’s part of our daily routine, being used three times a day during our walks. I’ve also recommended it to two other people, both of whom are very pleased with it. The battery life is particularly impressive.

However, the only downside I can see, as phillips321 mentioned, is that it can become quite frustrating having to repeatedly remove and replace the tapes while stalking or searching.

Any reason why they limited the turning off of the strobe light to the US market only? I cant see any legislation for it unless there's some sort of legislation EMEA based that could lead to it?

Ok folks. You can turn off the flashing lights. Just tested and it works.
You will need to make sure your phone and collar has the latest firmware.

Settings

Blink GPS Receiver

Turn it off

Come back out of settings and the lights go off.

For anyone wondering about buying a Garmin… buy one of these instead. They’re great bits of kit. Sync up with phone for full mapping and also if you have a smart watch can see on your watch to save getting your phone out the pocket. Amazing battery life on both the hand unit and collar. Well built as well 👌

Im in need of a new gps now and five collars. Im torn between this or sticking to what i know with a garmin. Im not sure about using my phone or if id prefer a dedicated unit.

are there many lads in uk using this now ?
