There has been quite a lot of interest in the Dogtra Pathfinder 2 series of late. They can be found on my website here at :-

Dogtra Pathfinder 2 10 Mile Range Labrador size and up.

Dogtra Pathfinder 2 Mini 4 Mile Range Teckel size and up.

These work from free downloadable high detail maps. To give and example I was advising someone recently who stalks on the Isle of Arran. They wanted to be sure the unit would track on Arran. No problem, download the high detail map of Arran to your phone and you can track your dog.

You can also set boundaries, you can geofence to get a warning if your dog leaves a set perimeter around you. You can setup and e-fence mode to stop dogs crossing boundaries and you can activate a strobe light. You can also turn off all the e-collar functions if you wish to only use it in tracking mode.

Have a watch of these videos to give you an idea of the capabilitues. There are a whole series of tutorial videos.

No affiliation to Dogtra whatsoever, I use a Pathfinder 2 mini unit on my Teckel, does the job very well, had no issues with it at all, and as said above the offline maps work great for areas with low/no signal, app very easy to use, no monthly charges..

I use the pathfinder 2 mini as well. Decent bit of kit but the main annoyance with it is how bright the flashing lights are on the collar. I stalk with my bitch by my side so at first/last light the flashing is very bright and not stealthy at all. I wish they could update the firmware to tell it to not flash the collar after 5 minutes of use...

Initially I thought you meant the LED strobe for finding the dog. But I’m thinking you mean the LED battery indicator.
I had a similar problem with a Bluetooth earpiece that I used when sat on fox bait stations. I just dabbed it with some black nail varnish.
Not ideal but works.

I will ask for you and see if it can be done.

Currently I have black electrical tape over the LEDs but that now means when tracking at night I cant use the white strobe functions which is a shame.

If you could ask the producer it would be highly appreciated.

But let me add, do not led the LEDs put anyone off from buying these units. They're bloody amazing bits of kit, great battery life and having proper mapping is good. I also cache the maps for the areas I shoot where signal is poor. Highly recommended.

I had a very constructive meeting with the directors of Dogtra Europe yesterday.
I have asked them to look into giving the option of turning off the flashing light in the app.
I have also asked if when logging into the app that the app does not keep insisting you pair a collar.
The reason for this is that if people could work their way through the features of the Pathfinder2 on the app without being interrupted by pairing messages (which you can keep cancelling) then customers would be more free and able to assess the features and benefits of the system before purchasing.

Use the Dogtra Pathfinder 2 mini on my Teckel, been an excellent bit of kit...bump on me

@TommmB I didnt buy from this seller and have no affiliation but I can assure you these are good bits of kit. Mine gets used all the time and im really pleased with it. Give's complete peace of mind when the dog follows up on wounded game. Just this weekend my little terrier followed up on a wounded boar and all the time I can see where she is.
