Gosh , So they want all doing it the same way exactly now ? Not being funny i do it different ways frequently depending on the situation depends on circumstance . Mind you it was 3 minimum ( and most put 5 plus in because it was common to be told " gather some more evidence ) and no fenced in pet ones !
Lets be Fair more and more professionals are not even doing level 2, because its not required . That includes entry to the BASC Arran Scheme

No, they don't all want it done the same way.
As you say yourself, different circumstances require different approaches. A candidate may only get to demonstrate one method, but would be expected to have a robust knowledge of others.
And once the deer is dead, it matters not whether it was wild or fenced. Both have to be prepared for the food chain to the same high standard.
