new 4x4 from china, double cab pickup with alot of extras decent warrenty for £13.999 +vat worth a look if nothing else .i wont knock it till i give it a try .looks very much like the rodeo/hilux/ranger

They certainly seem to have all of the bells and whistles, at several thousand pounds less than similar models by more well-known manufacturers.

I believe that they're a very popular brand, everywhere but here in the UK, at the moment.

Ian Harford did a review on team wild tv looked a good bit of kit but only time will tell if they are built to a decent standard. You normally get what you pay for.

Sorry I realised that,
people make jokes abot made in china goods, the same as they used to about japanese goods,

no one laughs anymore and wont soon about the chinesse,
as long as they sort the "chinglish" instructions.

see a lot of them being used in middle east slowly replacing the toyota dare i say it,
best thing great wall could do is test them out using keepers as sure enough if it can be broken a keeper will manage it!
seen every type of pick up killed by carless underkeepers.

was kinda hoping some sort of deal could be done as i have not seen one around here but the dealer is only 5 miles away hope they might want someone to spread the word .....at a cost of course:D i am employed so the vat is a real bummer

I have heard that if you check the vin plate on them the maufature date is 2007! I do not know if this is true or not but it was posted on another reivew of the truck

I've been looking at these for when my endowment matures, I was told they are based on the Izuzu that was around befor the rodeo with a few modern upgrades like electronic 4x4 switching.

Wait and see after a year or so of hard graft,Then there"s the aftersales service,Service costs, relability and running costs.Team wild tv would endorse them probably because they have been given one free to advertise.Lets just wait, then judge them. Thats my opinion anyway.

This may be a nice truck, and it may be reliable too, but it will depreciate like a christmas tree in january. The money you save buying it new will be gone in 5 years, it will have lost more than you saved not buying a toyota / landy / ranger etc.

Most pickups with the smaller engines will do 35mpg+.

The best value for money pickup on the market at the moment is the isuzu D-max, 5 year 120,000 mile warrenty says it all really.

There is some pretty fundamental differences between made in Japan and made in China. I lived in Asia for quite a few years and noticed an enormous culture difference between the two countries which I think is reflected in the quality of their products. Japanese people are basically workaholic perfectionists so of course they turn out quality engineered products. I dont see the same culture of dedication to quality in China. Thats fine for a lot of more disposable type of products but not necessarily for cars or trucks.

Overall I dont think vehicles made in China (and to a less extent made in Korea) will ever reach the quality standards of made in Japan. Just like made in France will never be quite the same quality as made in Germany!

They will probably be a bit like the TATA vehicles. Look good on paper and fairly good when new but go rapidly downhill from there. Remember TATA used merc engines and still managed to muck them up!
