Greetings from South Texas, United States

Thanks for letting me join! I've been reading the excellent analysis on this site for weeks.

I have been hunting and competing with Sako and Tikka rifles, but recently picked up a nice Blaser R8 at an auction. I see a lot of discussion about these fine rifles on this site, looking forward to learning more.

I live on the South Texas border with Mexico, so let me know if you are ever in my area. My wife and 5 kids and I run a business, compete in small bore rifle, and hunt mostly wild hogs down here.

Welcome from Michigan and Staffordshire, I am also new to a Blaser R8. How is the wild hog hunting in your area, I'm planning to do a Texas trip in the next few months to test out my new R8.

Welcome from Scotland! I used to live in Oklahoma and also Dallas/Ft Worth, and have hunted turkey and hogs in Seguine so enjoy that area!

Regards,
Gixer
Well hopefully now you are enjoying the many shooting opportunities that Scotland has to offer. I'm just at the point where those hills are hard on the knees, my climbing has certainly slowed a little!

Welcome to the forum matey, love your part of the world,
Coming up 20 years back i visited for two days to hunt pigs with an outfit called Four Seasons Hunting run by a vet named Dan Moody, i had the experience of a lifetime an was hooked on the area.
Enjoy the site an the banter 👍🏻

I went to a silhouette pistol comp at Fort Stockton in 1993 then I had an interesting time afterwards I was taken to a Mex illegals drinking den out in the boonies by a Mex I had met in a downtown bar, the bartender who was from Michigan asked me if I wanted to borrow a 9mm, I went through the door of the den and the loud mariachi music suddenly stopped and they all looked at me. Sh it thinks I, then the Mex said its OK he's a brit and the music started up again and a beer was put in my hand. It was straight out of a Bob Hope movie scene, happy days.
