A Haas TL1 makes a nice option. The Colchester Triumph 2000 is a little big for some jobs but nice to use. The newer Colchester student/Harrison M300 long bed is probably one of the best options.

You can’t beat the feel of a proper lathe over the chinese ones, but they can do the job well.
