Yes I know.Too late. The data is already out there, spoofing our accounts will only be any good if there’s another breach.
No it's good practice.Changing the password is like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, what they hacked and downloaded was everyone’s personal details, name, address, email and phone numbers.
Its always good practice to change passwords regularly and to use complicated ones and have different ones for each account / site, but what has happened on the Guntrader site is that everyone’s personal details have been hacked and downloaded and posted on the dark web, changing your password now is not going to provide any protection against what has already happened. No it's good practice.
If people are dumb enough to reuse the password on other sites they should change that as well
Yes and there a ****ing great fines for companies that allow it to happen. I wonder why ??These things happen, it a fact of modern life.
Step 1: login (note you may need to reset your password);Yes I know.
As their website is so badly designed there is no obvious account deletion process (how crap is that) this is the best I can do to terminate my association with this business.
Indeed, I'm not advocating it at all, just providing the info on the back of CM's post. What’s the point of deleting accounts? Data is leaked, they will t be coming back for more…
I am grateful for that but I have never registered on the website, I presume they have been 'harvesting' e-mails via their 'cookies'.Because at some point between 2016 and present, you registered on the website and your email was in the list of accounts that were part of the breach. Better to reset the password, visit the accounts section to see what information is there and (a) edit it or (b) delete the account if you no longer require it.
Very much doubt so, but worth a check. Reset the password via the email you got the notification, login using the new password and see what information is there witin the accoun section just to be on the safe side. You can also delete the account if you don't wish so.I am grateful for that but I have never registered on the website, I presume they have been 'harvesting' e-mails via their 'cookies'.
