Well lockdown weekends are getting me a tad bored, so I've been looking through old books I've accumulated over the years, was actually looking because of a post wanting spaniel books an thought I'd got a couple but must have been lent out never to be seen again..

Anyway the meat of this post is that are people really paying 70/80 quid for the Guy Wallace book or is it just chances on ebay an amazon trying to retire early...

darn... I really like my signed copy of Versatile Gundog...if my wife ever finds out...

Which book?

I picked both his up recently for about £15 each.

The versatile gundog, ya got steal on it at that looking on the sites,

Thing is, if you price them too high people just won't buy them.

I saw them on Amazon for £65, simply wouldn't buy it for that sort of money sadly.

Same as the cocker book and that Mike Smith book I am after. There's some out there but for silly money. They've been listed for sale for ages, because no one will pay it.
If they come up for reasonable money they'll sell pretty quick.

This used to be the go to book for hunting dogs, unfortunately only available in German.

Totally agree matey, all dog training books are the same. Sit is sit an come is come etc no matter what breed.
It does get a touch more indepth with HPR's later in the training related to bird work I'll agree, however if all the books ever written were rolled into one and the repetitiveness taken out it'd be no thicker that a normal book.

The thing is, if people are stupid enough to pay big money for an item, the seller will be stupid not to take it

Dare I say that you're a bit behind the times?
You're right in saying 'sit means sit' but the 'how' has changed a lot over the years.
