I purchased a set of these as i came into a bit of unexpected cash. I have had the HQ35L from when they were launched. They are great so decided to treat myself. I had the 50 pro model for less than 24hrs as they were awful. The image was absolutely horrendous, I suspect the firmware is having a depremental effect on the quality of the image. The thermal channel is poor on every pallet. There seams to be a halo effect around the target. I scanned my dogs at a distance of 20m 45m and 100m the clarity was awful. The unit was poor at picking up heat and poor at using the ambient light. Overall on the thermal side I would say it was a similar image to a unit with a 25mm lens 384 sensor with a 60 netd. On the digital channel again this was weak. In the daytime the channel was no better than my HQ35L unit. At night the hq50 was significantly poorer. The hq50 at dusk could only show a grey image with no detail. In comparison my hq35 were still showing bright colours. The ir was also weak again down compared to my hq35. I would say overall the image on the thermal channel is absolutely awful it's very blochy and blurring. I tried all the settings with no improvement. I could see no detail in the trees leaves grass etc. These were clear and vibrant with my hq35. I would say the hq50 was around 50 percent of my hq35. The image in the 50 Pro was very similar to a firmware update that was launched a few months back for the falcon. That update wrecked a few falcons. The lrf worked fine and i was glad to see that the splash in was horizontal position. The harness is a welcome addition however the pouch is very good but the actual harness lets it down. There is limited adjustment with no back support. It feels like they ran out of money on this. The battery for me is a step backwards. It looks like they have stuck a pack of 18650 in a pack. Cant understand why they just didnt leave as it was.
