Hi all,

I'm looking for advice/recommendations for a hand held lamp or a decent scope mounted torch that can range out to 200/250meters if not more. Something that I can recharge and carry about when on foot as some area's of ground I can't get into with the truck. It's for foxing mainly but it will be used for deer management on a night license.

Been using mine (red LED) for about 2 1/2 years now and cannot fault it at all. Get a rat-tail and scope-mount, and add a bit of Velcro to the equation (for the switch and the fore-end of your stock) and you're not going to want to shoot further than you can see .. ever. I do my foxing with a .204 and in daylight I'm happy taking them on at well over 400yds. By lamp I reduce that by at least 1/2, but the Sniper Hog lets me find them w-a-a-a-y out.

I've tried a whole host of different scope-mounted lamps and nothing has come close.
 
Clulite sport does out to 600m easily, rechargeable. Can get coloured lenses, worth shopping around for paid £45 for mine a few years ago.

Be wary of anything that has outstanding capabilities as white lamp if what you actually want is a red one. A red (or any other colour) filter simply filters out all other colours from the white light, thereby reducing the effectiveness of the lamp considerably. A true red led (that only emits red light) is giving you 100% of it's capability 100% of the time.
