Handy lightweight orange items to carry in the field.

I thought that I'd share a few things I now carry. For marking the shot position, last known deer position and blood signs... 5m of thin hi vis orange reflective ribbon. It is extremely visible at twighlight or in the dark when a torch is used. Tie a bit to a branch and it certainly stands out. If you use cable ties during a gralloch then bright orange is the way to go, very easy to find. Also handy for strap repairs. And finally a mini microfiber hand towel, packs extremely small, spread it on the ground when preparing a deer and get in the habit of only putting things down on top of it. It really avoids having to search about for items you were sure you put down just by your foot a minute ago. In fact, do the gang here think that there could be an opportunity to sell packs containing these items? I'm sure if I bought in bulk I could do all three for a tenner.

I use this as part of my every day/night kit, simple strong piece of dog rose wrapped at one end with white reflective tape removed from an old life jacket warmed it up with a hot air gun leaving the glue still on it and wrapped it around the stick.
Lots of uses remote 5th stick, whacking nettles down to retrieve quarry, a good steady down a ditch.
Most useful feature is the reflective tape as a marker stick pushed in the ground, found large fallow in rape push in the ground go back for recovery kit couple sweeps with the torch "there it is"
Used it the other night as 400 yds from the truck so marked the "spot" then drove back to find the fox where I marked it.

Good sized head on that fox.

The towel will pick up half the forest floor and ticks galore if you have them. If you must use a dark handled knife, attach a short hi-viz parachord lanyard.

To be fair I find the micro fibre towels just flick off debris, there is no fluff for stuff to get stuck to.
