Has anyone been to Hungary for driven boar?

First post here after being referred to the site by EMcC an Sika98k; I was also on the trip, and it was brilliant! It was a pleasure to meet such a nice group of people and I really enjoyed it all.

I know this is an old thread but it cropped up because I am going over to visit the same agent, Zoli, next Sunday to do a bit of Selective culling over crop damage.
If the Boar have found better crops than the ones already started on and I don't get to see any, I have been given the opportunity to 'high seat it' over a bait station to ensure I get the opportunity to see some at least.

Fingers crossed for you Eddy. Have a great time, and let us know how you get on.

The weather was so hot the pigs stayed in the cool of the forest and I didn't fancy climbing hills and stalking them in the forest so settled for high seats and kept my fingers crossed - it didn't pay off tho.
I was told by one of the locals that the sows farrowed late this year so were still lethargic and stayed in the cool of the forest and of course the piglets were not going far from mummy either.
As there was still plenty of greenery in the forest there was no real need for any of the pigs to forage even the food put out for them could not tempt them to come out.
The Deer were another matter !!
I have not seen so many Deer, actually it was as if they had been choreographed judging by the way they behaved :-)
As soon as I got to my high seat out they came, Reds, Roe and some bloody great big ones which I was told were probably Carpathian cross ?? they had beams thicker than my wrists and the weight must have been terrific as when one of them walked past my high seat so close I could see the muscles in his neck and shoulders ripple, really majestic.
The Roe were from spiney thin things to one or two good medal class, if I had seen such a variation and number in UK I would have suggested that there was either an over population or food shortage.
I had a Bat fly in the window on one side of my high seat, do a figure of eight almost around my head and then fly out of the other side.
I had some really colourful birds in bushes at high seat level singing me a serenade until dark and I had a fleeting glance of what I was sure was a Wolf.
I had arranged to be collected at midnight so packed my kit and sat on the bottom rung of the high seat to await my vehicle.
When it arrived I was asked how long it would take me to climb back in the high seat and lock the door.
I looked at my driver a bit puzzled but replied "Oh about five minutes, why" his reply was that a Bear could reach the bottom rung of the high seat from the wood line in about five seconds !!
I think/hoped he was joking but stayed in the high seats every night after that until my vehicle arrived to collect me just in case he wasn't.
It was a good trip for the pigs as none were harmed during my stay.
For me it was a very good trip as the company, food, accommodation, the weather and organisation was perfect and it was not expensive either.
If I had my wife with me and left the gun at home it would have been classed as a very cheap Hungarian holiday.
If ever I need a break I may well visit that hunting lodge again.
