Assuming that you are in a red free zone.
On our pheasant shoot we found that the squirrels would chew a hole in the top edge of a plastic barrel feeder. We would then set a No4 trap directly below the hole catching them as they dropped onto the wheat. As the No4 only kills one at a time it left some for a shot with the .22 rimfire. A measured reduction and a bit of sport. Happy days!
