in short the receiver that the barrel fits into/your front mount sits on (receiver ring..diameter) in this case its Mauser large ring M,hope this helps.

yes..unless??.. its a small ring!!... it deep-ends on the calibre

Yes P-H as far as I am aware never used the small ring actions.

From the research I've done I agree with Brithunter, I can't find any examples of P-H small rings.

Tomorrow is the 'Nations Gun Show' in Chantilly, VA. They have it 4 times per year and you can easily spend the whole day there. I hope to get a new stock for my Gibbs, P-H, Midland. If I am succesful I'll take some pics and post them. And again thanks for all of the help.
