Wanted: Helping hand/ experience please!

I can’t promise but I’ll try not to bore you with too much detail, and I know there are plenty other people in the same situation.

Acquired my first shotgun when I was 19 didn’t have a mentor so to speak so managed to get little local permissions here and there which got me out for an hour or two every now and again but never amounted to much shooting.

Got my FAC at 21 after helping a few keepers with fox control and joining a gun club. I tried to join a deer syndicate Dumfries way through a distant relation which ended up scamming me out of £400ish, so that was a door closed for me. 9 years later I’ve a bit more time on my hands as I’ve recently joined a fire service, but with a young family a syndicate wouldn’t be feasible.

So in a roundabout way I’m asking if anyone would be kind enough to let me shadow them on stalks, teach me the basics from field to fork and everything in-between.

I currently live in the North West, wigan area.

Not looking for free shooting or boomerang any permission, just practical experience for when I’m ready for DSC1 in the future.

Any advice/ guidance is really appreciated. Thankyou

Sensible approach to learning the ropes.

I've recently finished 28yrs in the Fire service, only just got into stalking, lots of great info on here. There are also some kind hearted souls in the forums who would be willing to help you out, just a matter of finding them! Shortly about to take my DSC1. Alsi still awaiting my FAC.
