Helping out the knife makers...

Some time back I repaired a set of spring tines for a farmer, my neighbour and his friend are keen hobby knife makers with a decent 3 burner gas forge, anvil and some tools. I dropped off the broken tines for them to have a play also been around watching them hammering out the blanks. These lads are top notch on cold rooms/chiller repairs so I have no problem doing bits for them in my work shop.
I showed them how I would let these blanks "down" from stuff I have made over the years, a text this afternoon " can you mill these blanks please? Yes bring them around.
The file was a bit skatey but I have plenty of ripper cutters, in fairness the blanks were quite flat so I went through the roughing process "blue chips" which turned out quite flat. A Bowie shape is their end goal so I sent them off with a flat middle to work out the final profile before I do any more.
