Hgv tacho question

So as he would have to take a 30 minute break before 2 pm, he would not only comply with the driving hours regulations, but also comply with the WTD regulations. At 2pm he would have only been on duty for 7 hours, and has already had a 15 minute break before he had reached the 6 hours on duty.

Not sure I've understood you correctly.
He would have to take another 15 if he were to work more than 6 hours but less than 9 to comply with WTD . However , if as you say he takes a further 30 minutes it will clear his tacho and comply with WTD .

The best explanation I've read was in the RHA(big yuk!) Drivers handbook .

Jest you not, I have already seen Jacob Rees-Mogg say he doesn't think people should be paid when on holiday, Grant Shapps wants to allow all drivers to be able drive HGV's, so unless you are a big tax dodging corporation there is very little hope.
Why should people be paid when on holiday? I've never understood that. If you want to take time off work for a holiday, that's fine. Shouldn't expect to get paid for taking time off though.

What do you mean JRM actually thinks its OK for people to be paid. I think he is pushing for the reimposition of serfdom, indentured labour and slavery. Mind you many pretty much only just about make ends meet each month so large portions of the population are pretty much there. Yes they have the freedom to leave the job, but there are large parts of the UK where jobs are pretty hard to come by.
