HikMicro Alpex 4K LRF - Video Footage

Footage dropping in January 9th, possibly before just waiting on marketing allowing me to release...

I'll share a range of footage from night/day and product overview when permitted...

Amazing clarity - how does it compare with then Zulus for half the weight? I’m considerIng a day/night set up for the close and really dark woodland that I hunt. I can’t decide if it will make as bug a difference as getting more practice and continuing to be a selective on shots I take. Swaro glass is doing its bit - I wonder if I’m doing mine? Also looking at the C50.

I’ve recently bought the Arken, having used a C50 for the last 2 years i can tell you that the Arken wipes the floor day and night with the C50.
BUT in your scenario, close dark woodland the C50 is the kiddy, lower mag, far better in low light.

The Arken base mag is X5, in close up woodland i prefer the x3.5 of the C50 with the PIP box on x7 so you have a wider field of view to pick up the target and nail it through the PIP if you need to.

Given your described scenario and ultimately that's what these decisions come down to (what will you specifically use it for) as @Pellet Pinger says the C50 ticks all the boxes. For low mag, wide fov and last light capabilities it can't be touched. Check out some of the footage users were posting of it while still in "day" mode well after natural light had gone to the human eye.

Hi mate - what's the onboard IR like, what distance you using it to? Cheers

Two video captures, footage too big to upload.
First is about 80m away and second is about 30m away using Alpex and wicked IR, the clarity out to 300+ is phenomenal, i anticipate the new model with LRF being and HD being a market leader.

Ben, if you go on AGF ive put a thread up with footage compared to the C50 from identical postions.
Theres some 380yd footage and thats with the inbuilt IR, no need for anything else.

Do you sell the exact same mounts as in the picture, quick release ?

Yes, the Alpex looks superb. I'm somewhat surprised how ordinary the Arken image is. Given the hype, I somehow expected more.
The IR on the ZULUS is in line with the scope, so the image looks completely flat. The bounce back of moisture in the air isn't helping either. The IR for the ALPEX is quite far off axis so there is no direct reflection back from atmospherics and with it being off axis everything has a visible side shadow, giving the image far more depth to it.

I dare say if the location of the IR was reversed in relation to the scopes, the ZULUS would look better than the ALPEX.

It's that same situation when two mates go out shooting with their NV and each claim the others illuminator is better than theirs when sat a metre or two apart.

Ideally any comparison should be done with identical IR illuminators, mounted to the individual scopes being compared.

Cheers

Interesting - I have made this comparison a few times and always concluded mine was deficient!

So what your saying Clive is the Arkens own IR is as much use as a chocolate fireguard ? As it’s utilising its own IR .

That’s like saying a 75mm lens wont work with a 12 micron thermal, who would state such a thing, I mean even after extensive testing ?
