Hikmicro Habrok

having a look into the Hikmicro habrok thermal binos, what do people that have these think of them are they any good?

Thanks

I picked up the 4k ones, bottom of the range thermally, but have proved a fantastic tool. they have replaced my Iray FH35r v2 with the 640 processor and the ease of thermal spotting and switching to optical without losing the line of sight is a revelation.

I’m on the 4ks

I rate them. The optical channel is amazing, even on full mag it’s clear. The thermal is fine for stalking, which is always a case of a ‘there’s something there’ situation, coupled with the aforementioned optical to ID properly it’s a formidable tool.

I suppose it’s a bit of a jack of all trade. There’s better binoculars, night vision units, thermals, spotting scopes, LRF’s….but the fact you get serviceable versions of each rolled into a £1200 item is frankly mad.

I had a play with them at my rfd.... they actually made my eyes hurt!!!! And as far as being a replacement for normal binos.. forget it!. Same with the none 4k version with better thermal (next step will be the 4k plus version no doubt, with the thermal ability of the original habrok and the 4k digital stuff of the new ones...and price hike to compensate).

I bought a set of the 25 4k's at the Scottish Game fair last week ( at a price well below the retailers that advertise on here)
Still getting used to them but impressed so far. Thermal is not as good resolution as my current pulsar xq38 but is still good enough to spot deer and other heat sources.
My purpose in buying these is to be able to keep the deer in focus and switch to optical for identification. The current practice is spot with thermal then try for ages to find the bloomin' beast in the bino's!
Had a bit of an issue getting the range finder to work initially but it now appears that it doesn't like a near empty battery.
A Spika bingo chest pack is just the job for carrying the Harboks and spare batteries.

It’s the same conversation as per the Alpex vs good glass.

Is it as good as glass in daylight? Nope.

Does it knock spots off glass as light fades? Yep.

Horses for courses. I can live easily with the daylight mode, knowing the advantages I have in the evening/morning. Plus the other advantages in my post.

we used @JH83 's pair on the range the other day on 25x with a tripod to spot target shots...says a lot

Just tried a pair in a shop. Christ, that was a mistake.

I'll definitely be chopping in my Pulsar for a pair of these. At the moment I have to take a note of the trees when switching to glass. Sometimes I'm back and forth a couple of times before I can actually glass the deer.

Also when the guy in the shop turned off the lights when I was in optical mode ... Wow!

Had mine a while now and they are an excellent tool, my eyesight is age affected now so I keep a pair of Leica 8x25 binos in my pocket for when sexing of roe is difficult thru the digital view. The thermal performance and night vision is brilliant.

Not that Ive noticed i think that as both eyes seeing the same image I dont get the same eye strain
So what you mean is the bright screen has reduced the ability of both eyes to see in the low levels of natural light available. Using a monocular only affects one eye & if you use the opposite eye to the one you use for a scope you can still use normal glass.
