Hi guys,
Was up on hinds week 1 2013, hard work stalking- no one says it's easy- low density, hard shot woodland reds and dense forestry blocks, but all bar one gun took at least one beast.
I'd go again- the safety check-in process is a little bit of a pain, but minimised by the good humour and can-do attitude of our BASC co-ordinator Mike T. and Bob the FC man on Arran (who's a legend at carcass extraction on a quad).
My top tip- don't shoot a red if it's 1) at the bottom of a hill below the road 2) in bracken 3) got a stone wall across the extraction route 4) got a ditch across the extraction route 5) involves clear fell [a misnomer] on a steep hill.
Certainly don't shoot it if serials 1 through 5 ALL apply.
