Hornady SUB-X Bullets Available.

Nosler makes a beautiful 210 grain ballistic tip RN that expands at 1050 fps MV. Are they available in the UK? Very accurate from my CZ Blackout when using Lil Gun.~Muir

Hi Andy,

I haven't personally seen the 220gr Noslers over here yet but I understand some dealers have very limited stock. But IIRC didn't they get a bad rep for not expanding unless a minimum of 1000fps impact velocity is achieved, and then some more for shedding jackets when they did? At least that's what I recall reading over on 300BLKTalk unless they've improved them in the meantime?

The Hornady SUB-X offerings haven't made it onto the distributors listing yet, but it;s early days, so we live in hope for those.

In truth, I've never shot them at game -only paper. I prefer the Sierra 135 grain at supersonic speeds for general work. I know that the jacket on these 220's is thin because I easily pinched a bullet in half with a set of wire snippers. It gave sub-MOA from my CZ so I may give them a try on game.~Muir

Let us know how you get on with them on live quarry, it might make them feasible for what we want them for. I'm using 110gr V-MAX loaded to give around 2500fps in my 300BLK at the moment, and they work very well. Tried 125gr Nosler BT but the but the Hornady 125gr SST was more accurate.

Really?? The 125 grain Nosler ballistic Tip hunter is THE most accurate bullet in at least one of y 300's! Just goes to show you, eh?
Will give a report when and if I get the 220's on game.~Muir
