How long before someone produces a .240 / 6.10mm rifle to avoid the lead ban?

thats odd seem to see a lot of folk on here saying copper doesnt perform as well .............
To be fair a great percentage of members might not have shot as many deer as as me on deer or not many deer full stop ? , it often seems that way in the main part ! the best of the copper bullets kill far better than lead , dealers and estates require copper shot beasts I had a very long time shooting lead before copper even existed in the uk gunshops shelves , i would not go back ! But lets get this clean and simple its now required . Some early copper was pants ! That's largely stopped as users stick to the better stuff ( buying the cheapest copper bullets your far more chance of getting poor ammo )
Barnes have a long history of making copper hunting bullets and i have to say they kill really well indeed and the 50 grain Hornady has served me well before the 50 grain tTSX 50 grain was available .
The nearest thing to Barnes is the lead Nosler partition in the .223 indeed i would say it might be a tad better than Barnes on the small deer species of deer
The only guns i shoot lead in is .22rf , 22hornet and 223 and of course a few .22 air

Sorry but all evidence seems to point towards copper not killing as well as lead despite you claiming the opposite

The 6.17mm thing depends on what’s stated.

If it’s the rifle calibre then there’s an argument as to whether 243 is bigger or smaller depending on whether you measure grove to grove or land to land.

If it’s based on the bullet size, it’s bigger as the bullet is .243” which is a shade over 6.17mm.

I can’t see anyone making a rifle that’s marginally sub 6.17mm as the only market would be the U.K. and the manufacturer would be extremely vulnerable to a small tweak in the law rendering the entire project obsolete.

Calibre is always measured land to land, it is the bore diameter.

.243, .308, etc. are bullet diameters or commercial names.

The way things are heading I'd be more concerned about having the fuel to get to my hunting ground!

May have to keep the diesel-powered rumble truck a little longer than planned!
