I'm looking for abit of advice on a scope?

I bought a scope a couple of years ago and now that I'm wanting to move it on I'm being told its a fake?

Does anyone have any advice?

Who's saying it's fake, and on what grounds?

Have you emailed the serial number to Zeiss, to see whether they can clarify?

If it's a fake it is way better than the others that I have seen, not sure how someone could spot that it is one?
Does it hold zero, track accurately and is the glass suitably bright and sharp?
Contact Zeiss customer service with the serial number and ask them.

They potentially mean that it is not a "real" Zeiss because it was assembled in and aimed at the US market, as opposed to West Germany. Doesn't look like a fake to me.
You're probably spot on ref the T* coatings vs MC. Still quality glass in the MC (USA) Zeiss scopes

Nowt wrong with that - just a USA marketed scope rather than Europe.
Components are the same. Just might be a smear of burger grease or chewin baccie in the internals if you look close.
Someone is pulling your chain I think. Great scope commanding a fair price.

Yours is real. Made for the US market.

The fakes are easy to spot. Very cheap and no Zeiss badge, just the symbol, the build quailty is terrible and the font is bad. The dead giveaway is the adjustable objective parrallax (adjustable on the bell of the scope) and red/green illuminated reticle.. as Zeiss do not make them like that.

Ebay was once flooded with fakes and still may have a few.

You can spot the fake zeiss scopes from a mile away. I've seen them on ebay and FB when looking for a new scope.

The quality is crap on them and they illuminate green and red, just like cheapo Chinese ones do. Half the time the zeiss sticker isn't central and the numbers are stuck on rather then laser etched then painted.

The one you have was made in the US for the US market and probably got brought over in someone's suitcase. My friend has 2 that says made in the USA on the side and they are 100% genuine, got them off a mate or his who went on holiday to texas a few years back.

he didn't offer to take it off your hands for fifty quid after telling you it was a fake by any chance?
Nothing about the scope in the pics suggests it's a fake. You're fine .

The conquest scopes were made for the us market.... yours is genuine... the fake ones stand out by a mile!!...

Guys,

A wee update. I followed some of you advice and contacted Ziess. Looks like I had nothing to worry about.

Attached is there response after sending them some pictures and serial No.

Cheers
