....I am a shade disappointed!
The CeeZee 527 doesn't seem to want to group tight enough!
So I took a look at the bolt handle ( I've experienced problems here before on a couple of rifles) and sure enough witness marks!

So I've relieved the wood and sealed it. Nothing wood is touching the bolt now.

Apart from that my faith in the Sightmark wraith 4k is waining!
Zero seems to be wandering!
For instance. Turn it on, shoot, adjust, switch off. Switch on, shoot, shooting low.
I experienced this yesterday afternoon a few times.
I've been out today, fresh target. Shoots low and left again!
Even if the bolt on the wood was opening the group up ( not test since relieving) it should not shift zero.
I am rapidly going off dedicated NV and considering going scope and add on plus a better IR torch. I just got one etc.
Tonight I'm going to put the sytong 66 on the HMR scope and look at the image with the new ir.
If that looks good I may replace the wraith with a scope.

Any comments? Oh and everything is tight and the barrel is totally free of timber.
Below is the last target shot today. The right group is the Winchester.
The left two are Hornady.
Mysteriously the Hornady returned close to zero, bear in mind that yesterday both the Winchester and the Hornady were ... momentarily grouping together!
It was zeroed yesterday but mysteriously it's not today!

I had a similar problem and eventually found out I wasn’t properly re setting/ saving the reticule after adjustment it went back to the previous setting after turning it off, it drove me frustratingly mad I can tell you

I’ve got a pulsar N355 and a 940 just sitting on the shelve, I dont use, if would like to borrow one of those until you’ve got it sorted you are more than welcome I’ll post you one up if you want to keep you going

How did you overcome the setting issue?
When I adjust mine an press ok I see the ret move to the new position.
I'm getting tired of it!

Test it with glass, then you will know if it’s the rifle or the NV scope, only then will you be able to move to the next stage

I re read the instructions and went to battle - eventually got the hang of it, not until after a few shots though, I’m not good on electronics to be honest, but I typed out the main bits like save before you exit blah blah blah highlighted it on a sheet so I could see it quickly eventually got the hang of it, my big misTake was pushing the ok button then the off button often missed one or the other then frustration kicks in I’ve got the t ceptor on my bigger cals all set up but without Clive wards generous help and guidance - I really cocked that up big time, I even lost the reticule for a while Clive straightened me out, now I have the 22 rimmy on it as well as a couple of others when I get a difficult job come in, so I’ve climbed a big mountain with the ceptor, but for the small cals I’m on the 007v and hawke scopes, they work brilliantly but I do like the ceptor as a mounted scope, I shoot blasers so If I cock something up I can just change the the scope over and a red light on top to get out of a hole

worst thing is not having trust in your kit, if I can’t fix something after putting some time in on it, it goes in the bin I only ask for one shot and I don’t want to cock it up or wound something

The amount of ammunition and time spent swapping Yukon photon/ pard 007 / pard ds35 between 22lr hmr and FAC air would have paid for a dedicated NV set up years ago . All fun but can be vexatious. Good luck

My 527 wouldn't group in the same county.
I tried everything. It even went back to Edgar Brothers, still no joy.
Weighed it in for scrap along with 1 for 1 paperwork

Try it with a normal, decent quality scope that you know shoots accurately on other rifles. If the groups are still bad then you know it's the rifle that needs tweaking.

Shot the other rifles exactly the same sans dedicated NV unit, grouped 1" . Groups never move except for one time, when the wraith was on it! I noticed zero had shifted in summer, didn't think much of it back then!

I had initial issues with my N470s, OK it's a different scope, but it was down to me not putting it on properly with the recoil lug on the mount snugged up to the weaver/picca rail.
I finally got the hang of it, put it on the rail, made sure it was sat properly, tightened the mounts up slightly, tapped the scope forward to make sure it was tight against the slot face, then tightened it using a Torque wrench to 6nm.
Since then it hasn't moved and I can swap between day scope with QR mounts and night scope with virtually no POI difference.

Yes, I did push it forward and then tighten the bolts.

Feel your frustration sd and a real barstuard still once dayscope cobbled on five shots and you will know the culprit.

Ok, up at 5am, back to basics.
Check the muzzle.
Oh crap!
The muzzle under a magnifying glass was shot!
With a sinking feeling I remembered the many crowns I have salvaged and set to it.
The following photos should be viewed with caution with a sweet beverage but believe me this is after reclaiming, I refuse to show the the befores!!

Alas, that done, and the bolt off the stock I returned to the range.
Finally a group as big as my shake and worthy!
The two shot in the tiny circles are yesterday prior to work.
The inch clust is four rounds today but note the zero change yet again! I no longer have faith in this NV unit! It didn't move like this on the rimfire but something isn't right so I'm going to scope this triple and go add on for night work.
For now I'm just glad I've got an acceptable group, at last....might be worth trying some more of those Winchester again even.
I'll be reloading soon too.
One day I'm gonna chuck the barrelled action and turn a new crown and the can can SOD OFF!

I went down the cheap rear add-on route and never looked back, Delta Titanium 2.5-15x56 & Pard 007 coupled up with a Pbir L and you can knock down foxes at 300 yards comfortably on an average night weather conditions permitted, so perfect for the .222.

I'm sure with your skills you will get that rifle shooting sweat as a nut, especially when you start loading.
As a footnote, I sold the brand new replacement Pulsar, and that also developed a fault within a few months.
